We’re proud to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity as our charity of choice across the Banana Moon Day Nursery franchise.

This leading, specialist paediatric centre provides medical care and support for children from across the UK. It’s one of only four specialist children’s hospitals in the country. As a company focused on caring for children, it goes without saying that this hospital is a cause close to our hearts.

At Banana Moon, we provide our nurseries with a charity programme full of fun activities to engage the entire nursery – including staff, parents and, of course, the children.

All the money we raise goes back to Birmingham Children’s Hospital to help them to create the best spaces within which to treat young patients, discover the best treatments through world-class research and create positive patient experiences that support a child’s treatment and recovery.

Giving back

Everything we do is oriented towards helping young people to reach their full potential, so we believe it’s our responsibility to support children in ways that reach beyond providing exceptional childcare.

Birmingham Children’s Hospital believes every patient deserves a childhood. Thousands of children and their families need treatment and care at the hospital every year. Any funds raised helps them provide practical and emotional support.

It’s also important for us to get the children involved in our charity fundraising activities. This not only helps build their creativity and teamwork skills, but also gives them greater awareness of those less fortunate than themselves.

A cause close to our hearts

The midlands-based children’s hospital is not only near to our headquarters in Warwick but it’s also very close to the hearts of the Banana Moon family.

Our MD and founder Mark Bates credits the hospital with saving his young daughter Emily’s life in 2006, after being diagnosed with a rare condition called Haemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS).

Fundraising activities we’ve taken part in to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital across the Banana Moon network include sponsored walks, pyjama days and staff dress-up days.
