Every year, the Banana Moon network comes together to celebrate the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of our nurseries. Truly the pinnacle of our events calendar, the Midnight Moon Awards are a night of great entertainment. Each year, we enjoy stunning venues, famous hosts, wonderful food, live music and the chance to mix with the network.
About the awards
At Banana Moon, we work tirelessly to deliver the highest possible standards of care. We know we play an important role as part of families and communities across the UK.
The Midnight Moon Awards therefore celebrate and reward best practice in childcare, paying special recognition to the nurseries that have gone the extra mile to create the best experience for the children in our care.
Award criteria include nurseries that emonstrate exemplary practice, and show the children they can dream big. What’s more, we showcase nurseries that bring new ideas to the table to create a spectacular experience for children, parents and staff alike.
We also take the time to reflect on the exciting goings-on at Banana Moon HQ throughout the year.

Nursery of the Year
The pinnacle of each Midnight Moon Awards is the prestigious Nursery of the Year award.
It’s an award for excellence in all areas: achieving top marks in audits and ensuring every policy and procedure is followed. The criteria also includes attending regular training, advocating the Banana Moon curriculum, and championing our brand.
Previous winners have included new nurseries that truly hit the ground running in their first year and long-established nurseries that excel in every area.
2018 recap
The 2018 Midnight Moon Awards were an elegant affair. We enjoyed electrifying live music and a very special host: England Rugby World Cup winner Matt Dawson.

A much-needed reunion following the whirlwind of 2020, the 2021 Midnight Moon Awards event was the epitome of the Banana Moon spirit. The room was alive, with lots of laughter as everyone danced the night away – after awarding some brilliant nurseries, of course!

2023 recap
Our 2023 Midnight Moon Awards was a skitacular night – if we do say so ourselves!
The night consisted of an ice-cool après-ski-themed celebration, with Stephen Mulhern being our chalet host. The Banana Moon Franchise family put their ski gear on, and soaked up the atmosphere in Val d’Edgbaston, with wonderful food, mesmerising entertainment and not to forget the “piste” de resistance: our awards.

2024 recap
The carnival came to town in 2024, as we came together to celebrate the magic of early years childcare. There was a kaleidoscope of colour, mesmerising entertainment and feel-good festival vibes – all presented by comedian, actor and bestselling children’s author David Walliams.
To help us truly get into the groove, Brazilian Samba Dancers and Batucada Drummers took the captivating carnival spirit to the next level with an authentic and high-energy experience.

2025 recap
The Midnight Moon Awards made a real splash in 2025 as we came together to celebrate the incredible depths of excellence in early years childcare. Our under the sea spectacular was where the party truly made waves, complete with fin-tastic entertainment and bubbly good fun – all brilliantly steered by our amazing host: comedian, actor and radio/TV presenter Paddy McGuinness.
The wonderful musicians of Truly Medley Deeply had everyone shaking their fins, while our photo booth proved to be a shore-fire hit – capturing all the fun and laughter of the night!
